Parent Consultations
Call for an initial free 20 minute phone consultation to explore working together.

Consultations begin with a meeting of approximately one hour in which we will discuss your questions and concerns and develop a detailed Evaluation and Consultation Plan.   Parents are asked to rate their concerns in any of the following areas:

Babycare: naps and sleep, feeding, toilet training, holding/comforting, playtime, discipline

Behavior: inactive/passive, listless, biting, hitting, tantrums, won’t cooperate/listen, aggression

Development: rolling, crawling, walking, jumping, skipping, gesturing, babbling, talking, grasping

Parenting: feeling overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, sad, angry, difficulty reading baby’s cues or managing child's behavior

School: school anxiety/refusal, can’t sit still, acting out in the classroom, bullying, special education, giftedness, attention difficulties, problems with organization, learning challenges

Sensory: dislikes itchy tags, fabrics, socks; prefers lots of motion, swinging, spinning; bothered by noise, lights, smells; very particular about texture and consistency of foods; coordination/balance difficulties

Social/Emotional Competence: fussiness/crying, difficulty separating, fears/phobias, nightmares, shyness, trouble sharing and playing with peers, feeling sad, withdrawn, difficulties with friends, emotional intensity

Subsequent meetings are then scheduled to observe, guide, and support parents as they interact and play with their children.  Consultations can also take place in an office, at schools, parks or during other social situations, depending on the concern being addressed.   My services can provide you with answers to your questions, resources in your community, effective parenting strategies, and emotional support and guidance.
