Promoting Healthy Relationships for Parents and Preschoolers
Amicus Therapy Group and Dr. Kelley Abrams are pleased to announce a unique new 6 week workshop series for parents and their preschoolers, ages 3-5. Both parents and children will benefit tremendously from this distinctive series. No need to arrange childcare!
The parenting workshop is designed to support emotional connection and communication - promoting security, confidence, and emotional well-being. It will be held once a week for 60 minutes.
- Parents will learn the importance of early experiences, how to be more emotionally available to their children, and how to enhance self-esteem, resilience, and healthy relationships.
- Parents will have the opportunity to meet other parents in a supportive environment and share parenting experiences while learning from a nationally recognized leader in early childhood development.
The facilitated playgroup that is offered simultaneously is designed to increase creativity, flexibility in thinking, and communication skills. This early intervention group, facilitated by two licensed child psychotherapists, will provide the following:
- Peer interaction opportunities, including initiating and maintaining conversations, answering questions, and turn-taking.
- Increased awareness and understanding of verbal and non-verbal communication among playmates.
The play-group will be fun-filled and developmentally appropriate, with play-based activities. It will include structured and facilitated playtime, music and movement, art opportunities, and snack time.
