"I felt unprepared when our baby was born a bit early as I never paid any attention to the preemie books. It was helpful to consult with Dr. Yost Abrams. Not only did it calm my worries but she also gave me lots of useful tips and insights. I always feel rushed at the pediatrician's office. With Dr. Yost Abrams, I was able to take the time and discuss all my questions."  San Jose Mother of two

Children are unique and grow and develop at their own pace.  Many parents wonder what is “typical” or “normal” behavior.  While checking your child’s development against average milestones can provide lots of useful information, many parents are left wondering where to go for more specific advice and guidance.  As a developmental psychologist, I can support you in understanding your child’s behavior, development, and mental health needs.

My Philosophy
No one knows your child better than you do.  You are the expert. As parents, though, we all can use extra support.  I believe that a child's earliest experiences with his or her parents and other caregivers are critical for overall healthy development.  My mission is to educate, help, support, and guide parents in their relationships with their children so that both parents and children can thrive.

All parents struggle from time to time, and often the advice we get is confusing and overwhelming. Many loving, caring parents can still use assistance learning how to communicate, connect with, and support their children. We often need help understanding our children's behavior and developing new strategies to address common parenting concerns. As a leader in the infant-family field with over 20 years of experience in early childhood, my services can support you and your family. I can meet with you in your own home for your convenience and offer practical and constructive guidance tailored to your specific needs and family circumstances.
